The individual must have:
- Advanced insurance knowledge in personal lines processes and procedures
- A minimum of 10 years of insurance experience and 3 years in a leadership role
- Professional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to communicate professionally with insurance companies and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions and move forward quickly
- A strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities
- A results-oriented mindset, with the ability to use time and resources effectively
- Awareness of industry trends and regulations, with the ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving industry
- Advanced practical knowledge and proficient computer skills, with EPIC Broker Management Software System experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- A capability of superior relationship building with a client orientation and a dedication to providing exemplary client service
- Strong organization and time management skills with demonstrated attention to detail
- The ability to handle multiple, competing projects that are time sensitive
- A commitment to professional development
- A RIBO licence (preferred) and a strong understanding of RIBO rules and regulations as well as familiarity with best practices
- Other insurance designations (would be considered an asset)
- The ability to develop and mentor others
- The ability to travel (as and when required)
- A high level of emotional intelligence
- A high level of adaptability, with the ability to be flexible and adjust to changing conditions
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and solve issues quickly
- The ability to inspire and motivate others towards a common goal
- The ability to coordinate tasks and activities to maximize efficiencies
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Leading the division and ensuring that the Personal Lines and Private Client Services (PCS) teams are supported in delivering products and customer experiences
- Fostering and mentoring leadership within the division as well as overseeing staff performance and professional growth
- Monitoring and improving carrier relationships to ensure client growth; revenue and profitability; efficiency, and client and employee satisfaction
- Consistent and effective communication, applying good listening and problem-solving skills with attention to employee concerns
- Developing relationships throughout the Personal Insurance operations and teams
- Collaborating with the Executive Operations Committee to identify initiatives and opportunities as well as determining the appropriate stream to deliver results
- Assisting in setting sales and retention goals and training in all offices
- Collaborating with other Executives to contribute to a strong culture of teamwork and operational support for the sales team (collaboration and teamwork with the Executive are integral to the success of the organization)
